WPI, Worcester, MA

A great start to another long week in our spring season.. Today we were at WPI in Worcester again, this time to focus on fun outdoor stuff.. The weather couldn't have been better.

We had a great day of shooting, the only downside to the day was that my iPhone finally died after months of abuse.

MCLA, North Adams, MA

After four straight days of rain last week, Friday was absolutely gorgeous!!!!! 80 and sunny up in the Northwest corner of Massachusetts at MCLA.

As I mentioned in previous posts, we find Spring such a tough time to shoot because of a few major variables that we have no control over. In addition to dodging the April showers, finding leaves on trees is also a road block that we frequently run into when shooting up north. Even though it may be 80 and sunny, when there's no leaves on the trees, it makes it almost impossible to get campus beauty shots (much better to capture during late summer or fall) without awful dead looking trees.

It was a long week in the car and on location, this week we'll see more of the same as we start off in Worcester, MA for a day, drive 400 miles to Buffalo for a day, fly to JFK, drive to Long Island for the tail end of the week and then start it all over the next week. :)

Suffolk University, Boston, MA

Wednesday we found ourselves at Suffolk University in the heart of Downtown Boston.

It's always fun to go to and work with the people at Suffolk. It's a bit of a departure from the way we typically work. As you can see from the images they look a bit different than what we normally shoot. (then again, maybe it's just me)

Suffolk is an urban school whose campus is essentially the city of Boston without a traditional campus. So Donald and Denise essentially run us ragged around the city to capture city scenes that depict Boston.

Other than the great city of Boston, we love it when they take care of us with food from Cosi :)

Eastern University, St. Davids, PA - Day Two

After a miserable rainy day on Monday, the sun FINALLY came out on Tuesday at about one pm.

After spending a day and a half shooting exclusively inside, we were getting a little fried, but thanks to the midday sun, we were able to get outside and grab some fun stuff at Eastern. For a school of less than 1,500 there sure was a lot of activity.

Eastern University, St. Davids, PA - Day One

Mother Nature was not in a good mood today, at least not in the Philadelphia suburbs. The forecast was calling for rain since late last week and that's exactly what it did ALL day at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA... Not only heavy rain, but a COLD rain. Eastern has a nice little campus, but by the images we were able to get today don't exactly show much of that at all.. Hoping tomorrow will clear out and allow us to show the campus.

SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY

On our last day off until Mid May, we found ourselves at SUNY New Paltz yesterday afternoon. We weren't scheduled to work at New Paltz until the beginning of May, but in a call to Rachel Reuben, I asked her if it was alright for us to come down for a few hours to capture some labs and art classes to make sure we got them prior to our visit in a few weeks.

The reason I asked her was simple: We are going to be back at New Paltz during the last week of classes and in prior experience, most, if not all science labs and art classes pack up a couple weeks before the end of the semester. Now we could go back in a few weeks and "set up" some fake labs and art classes, but as the majority of you know, that's not how we do it. :)

Rachel was flexible enough to allow us to come down for a few hours. She told me that the Fine Arts were a big part of the New Paltz scene, and she wasn't lying. We've been to a ton of schools, big and small and I can honestly say that aside from Indiana University's Herron School of Art, we have yet to see one as thriving as SUNY New Paltz.

It was definitely kind of weird to focus on only a couple specifics, as we usually roll through campus in two days capturing anything and everything that moves to build image libraries.

I can't wait to go back when there's some green and the weather's a bit nicer, great little campus..

Hopefully the New Paltz community enjoys them.

USC, Los Angeles, CA - Day One

Well the season is now in full swing as we arrive in Southern California Late Sunday night, for a couple day at USC

The place is gorgeous, the weather on Monday was equally as gorgeous (with the exception of the sunburn) Oh by the way, we've been to a lot of places and I shop at all the bookstores, but man the USC bookstore is the BEST... (I'm pretty partial to Nike Gear)

One more day in LA and back home on Wednesday for the easter Holiday.

April is here and so is the start of our busy spring season.

It kicked off at WPI in grey, chilly Worcester, MA Wednesday.

This time around was focused on classrooms, labs, faculty, we'll be back in a few weeks when the weather warms up to grab some outside campus life.
