Admissions Photography

Good morning everyone. Will the rain ever stop? This weather has put a huge damper on us professionally this week.. We had a four day admissions shoot cancelled.. Here is a shot of some good faculty/student interaction in a natural setting. We sit through an awful lot of classes, and to see an instructor that really keep the students engaged is such a great environment to shoot in.. On the other hand, a classroom with an instructor that sits at a desk in front of the room and lectures to a room of disengaged students, that's a complete buzzkill.. Let us know your thoughts on this... To see our entire online portfolio of Admissions and Viewbook photography goto:

Only in the Southwest

Here are a couple from New Mexico State University in April.. We've been all over the country capturing images, but this was the first dose of the Southwest that I've had... I loved it, what a place, so different... Cactus, Palm Trees, Gorgeous Mountains, No Humidity, and unbelievable Mexican food... One of the few places where you'll see a Ten Gallon Hat, Spurs, big belt buckle, and a fitted Abercrombie Tee on the same 19 year old.. Hope you enjoy.. To see our entire online gallery goto:

Good morning everyone, kind of getting sick of this rain up here in the Northeast.. How is everyone's summer shaping up? Any plans for fall semester photo shoots? Ww would love to hear everyone'e plans for the upcoming semester.. Here's one that would probably never end up in a viewbook, because of the black eye.. I have mentioned this before, but shooting rugby is one of the coolest assignments to shoot. Let us know what you think ... Interesting Class

Here's one of a professor from a shoot yesterday... Liberal Arts Classes are not the most interesting classrooms to shoot for admissions. This particular class however was extremely interesting, I think mainly because of the topic of conversation: POLITICS, it was extremely interesting to here what our youth think about the current situation of our world.. We were only given about 15 minutes to shoot this room, usually that's plenty, but we really got into this one.. Let us know what you think. To see our entire online portfolio goto:

Campus Life Shoot

Good morning everyone, just finished up a two day shoot at a school in Buffalo, NY.. This was quite a different shoot than we are typically accustomed to. We spent two full days shooting two dorm rooms.. After doing a lot of market research with prospective students, about what they would like to see in publications, seeing where they are going to live ranks among the tops.. Dorm room shots are typically the toughest to portray in a "natural"setting.. I think that we accomplished that in this shoot.. I have thrown a couple up from the shoot yesterday... Sorry for not posting this morning, as said in yesterday's post, we were going to be on the road a bit the next few days.. Try 13 hours of Windshield time since yesterday morning... Enough for a while.. Well just finished up today in Buffalo, NY and going back tomorrow.. Here's an image from a theatrical make-up class at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.. Long Few Days of Admissions Photography

Well as the weekend comes to a close, we are getting ready for a grueling three days of shooting in the Northeast.. We have a day shoot in Staten Island, NY... Not too bad about a 2 1/2 hour drive.. That's the easy part, from there after a full day of shooting, we have an 8 hour ride up to Buffalo, NY for two days of shooting.. Should be fun, but come afternoon on Wednesday could be a bit punchy... Surprisingly this June has actually been one of our busiest months this year... I think this may be a trend for the future, with more and more students taking classes all year round.. Would love to hear how Summer Session has grown in recent years at your schools.. Admissions Photography

Well got a breather this morning, no shooting today or over the weekend after a long week of shooting. We did some admissions work on Monday and spent Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday doing annual report/development work.. Actually spent two full days doing environmental portraits for a viewbook.. What are your thoughts on this type of shot for viewbooks? Very set-up, editorial type portraits featuring outstanding students. Anyway I chose a fun shot of a girl having breakfast at New Mexico State University.. Let us know what you think. Viewbook Photography

Here's one from a Starbucks on the campus of the University of Miami. I'm talking a "real" Starbucks not one of those cheesy kiosks that "proudly brew Starbucks Coffee" .. We have been to many, many campuses throughout the country and none that I've been to have had a full service Starbucks, with the exception of the University of Miami.. There's something about Starbucks, this place has unbeleiveable foot traffic, you could sit there all day and get some great student life shots.. Unfortunately each time we've been there we have been asked to leave by Starbucks management.. I think this is an unbelieveable selling point for prospectives, it sure beats Einstein's Brothers bagels or Java City that is seen on so many other campuses we've been to.. So if you know of any other campuses that house a full service Starbucks, we'd love to hear from you. To see our entire online gallery of viewbook and admissions photography go to

Hey everyone, hope you all enjoyed your weekend.. Today I wanted to get your opinion on the following photo. I really like the fact that the student is yawning while studying.. I think it shows that you really have to work hard to succeed at "fill in the blank school".. WHat do you think? Some people want all happy smiling faces, some like this kind of emotion.. Would love to know what you think.. To see our entire online gallery goto

Soggy Day of Shooting in Boston

I've been on location in Boston the last couple of days... They've had a few inches of rain.. It's been a tough go at it to find great stuff, but I did happen to capture this on Tremont Street Saturday morning.. I think it tells the story of the day.. Let me know what you think.. Summer Shooting

Hello everyone.. I can't believe it's already Friday. Well just wanted to throw a question out to everyone: What are your plans for the summer? Is anyone planning to do any admissions work during the summer session? I know there is not nearly the amount of activity this time of year, but you can still get some great work, thanks to the plush landscaping in the summer months.. Just curious how things are shaping up.. To see our entire online gallery goto:
