Admissions Photography

Here's one from the University of Miami in plush Coral Gables, Florida this past spring. Wish there were people in this shot, but I think it really gives the audience a sense of surroundings pretty unique to this particular school.. Let us know what you think. We seem to find something like this at every school we go to, is this something that admissions would use for their viewbooks or other recruitment pieces? Love to hear what you think.. Unnique to School

Hey everyone, just wanted to post another shot from the University of Miami.. I would like to say that you can only find something like this at the University of Miami. Of course that is not the case.. You can walk through any college campus and find gear from any other school in the country... Anyway enjoy, this was actually taken in Coral Gables last month. Here are a few detail shots from the University of Miami this Spring... Let us know what you think of these types of shots.. You know, college specific, that you can only find at a particular school... Do you admissions and pubs people have a use for these images? Would love to hear what everyone has to say.. Here is a topic that I imagine generates a lot of conversation in the admissions and pub world.. One word DIVERSITY... When talking to potential and current students about viewbooks and other publications, one of the biggest complaints from them is they cannot stand seeing the "canned" diversity photo on the cover. You know, the one with one caucasian, one asian, one african-american, and one hispanic student... It's quite frightening, these kids see right through it.. THEY understand that racial cliques exist on campus, and quite frankly I don't think they have a problem with it at all. I mean how many schools do you know that have 25% caucasian, 25% african-american, 25% hispanic, and 25% asian, not many that I've seen. Now to my question to throw out to everyone in the higher ed arena: How does this come about, is administration telling you this is what we need to see, no matter what... I know it has to be done, but unfortunately it does not have a positive effect on the customers (prospective students) Thanks look forward to hearing what everyone has to say... to see our website goto:

Designers: TIF's or Hi Res JPG's

All you designers out there: Recently we have been asked by more than a few designers to deliver their final images to them as JPEG's as opposed to TIF's... I was always under the impression that TIF's were Superior to JPG's? But like I said more designers are requesting JPEG's ... Any thoughts on this? When dealing with the amount of images we have been dealing with in recent months, this is a huge difference for us.. On a recent two day shoot we delivered 26 DVD's, if they were delivered as JPEG's, (compression 12) it would be about 6 DVD's (huge difference).. We would love your thoughts on this... Market Research

Good morning everyone, hope everyone had a great weekend.. Up here in the NE we've had a half of foot of rain with a few more inches on the way. Anyway, I have been doing some market research with high school kids about what appeals to them when thumbing through viewbooks or other recruitment pieces... The results are inline with what I thought for the most part.. Granted the samples are small (100 people or so) I think we would continue to see the trend.. I am continuing this smaple to reach other demographics as well... But the early results show that the three main things that attract these kids eyes are Dorm Life, Campus Life (kids having a great time) and what's the food like... I tend to agree with all these responses, They have to know where they're gonna live for the next four years, and what kind of food they're going to be consuming.. More stats to come in the coming weeks... Would love to hear all your thoughts on these numbers.. To see our portfolio goto:

Here are a couple of images from Buffalo, NY the other day.. For some reason, they do not strike me as Buffalo.. When I think of Buffalo, I think of SNOW SNOW SNOW.. We had a shoot up there at a school on Tuesday.. The uniques thing about this shoot was that it was FINALS WEEK.. I was a bit concerned about the amount of campus life we would see, BUT it turns out there was a TON of it.. Kids studying all over, playing wiffleball, sun tanning.. It was great.. Admissions Season Almost Over

Morning everybody, for the first time in nearly two months we have two days off in a row.. Off from shooting on location anyway, still have a MOUNTAIN of data to go through and process for delivery to all our clients.. It has been an extremely grueling spring for us.. We have logged some serious frequent flier miles, as well as thousands of miles on the ground this spring.. Our travels have brought us from Phoenix to Georgia, South Carolina, All of New England, Most of the Mid-Atlantic, back to El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM then to Miami, Jacksonville, you name it.. Can't wait to dig through nearly a terabyte of information to do a complete redesign of our website.. Our website is less than a year old, yet seems completely stale and out of date for our liking.. Hopefully it will be completely revamped by the end of June, but I don't think that is likely, the phone is continuing to ring from clients all over.. Thanks for visiting, to see our website goto
